Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham is taking one giant leap into space exploration this month

Discovery Place Kids Rockingham

The eagle has landed at Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham this month as the Museum celebrates the 50th anniversary of man walking on the moon. Grab your space suits and get ready to launch into fun!

Throughout July, daily Space Survival activities will take place at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., offering opportunities to train like an astronaut, work with a robotic arm and learn the science of gravity and life in space.

Then, on July 16, get ready to launch into space at the Museum’s Rocket Launch Party. We’ll be launching rockets in the Museum every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to noon. Plus, at 11:45 a.m., join us for our special blast off dance party.

On July 20, Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham will partner with the Thomas H. Leath Memorial Library to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Man on the Moon. Join us at the Thomas H. Leath Memorial Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for special Star Party that will feature Star Lab showings, space activities, games, astronaut ice cream taste testing and more! You won’t want to miss this free community event. It’ll be out of this world!

Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham isn’t our only Museum living in outer space this month. Be sure to check out the fun space-related activities taking place at Discovery Place Science, Discovery Place Nature and Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville, too.

Our space invasion will continue through September, with new and exciting intergalactic adventures taking place each month. You’ll be over the moon with all the amazing activities taking place at each location!
