Calling all ocean explorers: Dive into June with Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham

Discovery Place Kids Rockingham

World Oceans Card

From what animals you can find under the sea to how you can help keep pollutants out of our waterways, we’re riding the waves into a month full of ocean fun at Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham in June.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, test your skills in the Ocean Olympics. Can you jump like a shark breaching for its food? Can you hunt for prey in murky, deep water? Ocean explorers will see if they have what it takes to survive under the sea.

Then on Wednesdays and Fridays, take a Deep Sea Dive through the different zones of the ocean. Discover the creatures that inhabit those areas as we learn more about oceans. (For example, did you know that oceans cover approximately 70 percent of the Earth’s surface?).

Plus, every weekend help us with our Operation: Clean the Beach effort as we explore the ways we can protect our ocean waters and all of the creatures who live there. This is especially helpful for our visitors who are passing through on their way to beach vacations this summer!

Round out your monthlong ocean adventure with our puppet show, The Shell Game. Meet Hermie the Hermit Crab and his friends as we learn about sea creatures and how they depend on each other for survival.
